"this class is survey of Eastern European film from 1956 to 2006. Films and directors from Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia (and its successor states), Romania, and Yugoslavia (and its successor states). The time covered includes both the Communist and the post-Communist years, and such momentous events as the Prague Spring of 1968, the fall of Communism in 1989, and the breakup of Yugoslavia in the wars of 1991-1995."
